The need for Indigenous-led marine habitat conservation, restoration training and employment programs.

The headline of the webinar Envirotech is hosting on Wednesday, 1st September 2021 is Empowering Country to Sea, a rather powerful and intentional choice of words.
The webinar will coincide with the Indigenous Literacy Day, an opportune time to present our idea and initiative to the Indigenous communities of Australia.
It is a continuation of the ongoing conversation about conservation and restoration, stirring up young people to join and be more aware of their role in saving our land and water.
We are intentionally opening and exploring new ways and new platforms for discussing marine habitat conservation and restoration (MHCR). We will also explore training and employment opportunities for Indigenous and Islander communities.
We will discuss the urgency to have MHCR as a funded traineeship. This will enable required marine sustainability jobs to be led by the Indigenous communities and their protocols.
The lineup of speakers is phenomenal, there are environmentalists, experts in the field of marine conservation and restoration, as well as influencers walking the talk of conservation and restoration, teaching and empowering communities and encouraging everybody to make environmental and marine-friendly choices.
Each registered person will receive a 5-hour free short course: Introduction to our Marine Habitat Conservation & Restoration (MHCR).
