### 1. Explore the National Parks

If you feel lazy the easiest option for you is to explore **Burleigh Head National Park**. It’s located within 800 meters from our campus in Burleigh Heads. Basically it takes 12 minutes of walking to start your small adventure. Walk along the rocky foreshore and through rainforest, and there is a high chance to see whales in spring and sea-eagles soaring along the coast. Its northern side is one of Australia's most famous surfing point breaks. Also watch for humpback whales from Tumgun lookout in winter and spring.

**Stunning Natural Bridge** in Springbrook National Park is just 50 km away from the Gold Coast. This place is so beautiful and easy walk to the spectacular falls. Great day to hang out with friends. Pack a picnic lunch and admire the natural beauty, spot some wildlife and marvel at the majestics trees and forest.

### **2. Mount Mitchell Trekking**

It's a lovely, easy and beautiful hike, highly recommend for beginners and people don’t want to sweat too much. Absolutely stunning views and beautiful scenery at the top. The most beautiful about the track is its design: you are all the way around the mountain, with breathtaking views everywhere. You won’t feel tired because of the neverending amazement with the landscapes and be prepared to take pictures everywhere.

### **3. North Stradbroke Island**

Catching the ferry from Cleveland (just over an hour up the motorway from the Gold Coast) delivers you to the tiny island township of Dunwich. Five main beaches provide fishing, surfing and water opportunities on North Stradbroke Island. These are **Main Beach** which is 32 kilometres long and good for surfing, **Cylinder Beach** which is a protected swimming beach with a smaller swell, **Home Beach** which is popular with swimmers, **Frenchmans Beach/Deadmans Beach** with rock pools but no lifesaving service and **Flinders Beach** which offers good swimming and beach camping.

### **4. Brisbane**

Brisbane is the capital of the state of Queensland with a population of about 2 million people, making it the third-largest city in Australia. Its positive attitude and creative confidence makes Brisbane a genuine new-world city. Even though Brisbane is rapidly developing and forward-thinking, it maintains a youthful enthusiasm and has what is arguably the most vibrant, laid back and friendliest atmosphere of any east-coast capital city.

Must to do in Brisbane:

- Visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
- Find Eat Street Northshore.
- Go on a Chocolate or Craft Beer Walking Tour
- Lay on the Beach in the Middle of Brisbane City
- Hit the river on the CityHopper

### **5. Moreton Island**

From Brisbane catch a boat to Moreton Island. The island is popular for whale watching and home to the world’s largest concentration of dugongs and turtles close to a metropolitan centre. At dusk two families of wild bottlenose dolphins visit the shore of Tangalooma Island Resort every evening. Venture down to the beach and hand-feed these beautiful creatures in knee deep water as you get to say hi and snap a photo with these friendly locals.

Pack your snorkel mask and fins – there’re 15 sunken shipwrecks off Moreton Island, all teeming with marine life to get your Scuba Steve on.
